« A Great E-Book on Leadership | Main | The Connection Gene »

Rick Cooper, The PDA Pro

Thanks for the great suggestions Lori. I'm glad to see I'm on the right track. Your suggestion of attending large charity events is right on. You'll have to search to find the right events. Fundraisers supported by business publications and large chambers of commerce are a good start.

Following up with CEOs means more than simply sending an email. A personal note will definitely do more to get their attention. Also, send a book, as in a best selling business book. They will surely appreciate the thought.

I've hesitated from using LinkedIn to make contact with CEO's, but that's a great suggestion. It's probably the easiest way to get referred to a CEO you would otherwise never meet.

Finally, your suggestion about cold calling the CEO by first establishing an internal contact is great. Generally, I follow the practice of calling high first. However, you can't underestimate the power of being prepared for a call. Thanks.
