Rick Cooper, The PDA Pro

Many years ago, I worked in outside sales for a copier company. I was expected to cold call my territory once every three months. I had two sales managers in that job. The first was a nice older man with a great sense of humor. He loved to kid around with the sales reps and knew how to motivate them. The other who replaced him was a younger, hard charging man, with a desire to lead his sales team to be the best there was. This, of course, put more pressure on everyone.

I learned from both of them. The older sales manager taught me the value of consistent activity and in working together as a team. The younger sales manager taught me the lessons of pushing yourself to the limit and demanding more from yourself.

I still carry those lessons with me.
